Quines

Quines, named after Willard Van Orman Quine, are self-reproducing programs. In other words, quines are programs that display their own source code. Some people believe it’s extremely easy to do so, but that’s because they haven’t understood the concept of a quine. And then there are others who believe it is impossible to write a quine, but they’re wrong. A quine can be implemented in nearly every Turing complete language, and doing so can be an interesting challenge for most programmers.
